NOTICE OF ELECTION 
LOCAL OPTION SALES AND SERVICES TAX (LOSST)
TO THE CITY OF BURLINGTON VOTERS

On November 2, 2021 an election will be held in the City of Burlington to vote on the question of imposition of a local option sales and services tax.  The proposal to be voted upon at that election will include the following information:
Shall the City of Burlington, Iowa continue its levy of a one percent (1%) sales tax to be effective January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2032 of which at least fifty (50%) percent of the proceeds shall be used for property tax relief. The remainder of the sales tax proceeds shall be used for public safety, capital improvements, capital equipment, debt obligations, and economic development.

This is in accordance with the provisions of Sections 423B.1 of the Code of Iowa and IAC 721-21.800(3).
