Request an Absentee Ballot for the 2020 General Election

Des Moines County Voter,
Absentee Ballot Request Forms can be submitted to the Des Moines County Auditor's Office for the 2020 General Election starting on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Key notes are below:
- This completed form must be received in our office no later than Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 5 p.m.
- If you want to receive your ballot at an address other than your residential address, please fill out the “Where Your Absentee Ballot Should Be Mailed” section of the request form.
- Absentee ballots will be mailed on Monday, October 5, 2020.
- Returned Absentee Ballots must have a postmark on or before the deadline of Monday, November 2, 2020.
- You or your designee may deliver your ballot to the Auditor’s Office at 513 N Main St., 2nd Floor or place the voted ballot in the tan drop box located next to the courthouse before the polls close on Election Day by 9 p.m.
- Please be sure to sign your own name on the absentee request form. It is forgery for anyone other than the voter to sign the absentee ballot request form. This includes all family members.
- It is illegal for a Power of Attorney to sign the absentee ballot request form as a Power of Attorney.

After receiving your official absentee ballot - MAKE SURE to sign the affidavit envelope before returning the ballot.
