This is recommended(not required), but we highly encourage it!

Registering and requesting an absentee ballot with the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) by August 1 is the best way to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible. Please check Iowa's submission guidelines to see if you have the option to send the FPCA by mail, fax or email.

Using the FPCA allows Service members, their families and overseas citizens to:

  1. Receive their blank ballot electronically. 
  2. Receive their blank ballot 45 days before the election
