Primary Election
The Primary Election is an election to determine which candidates will qualify for the General Election for a given party. In Iowa you must be a member of the political party of which you wish to vote for in order to participate. This is known as a "closed primary." The primary election is held on the 1st Tuesday following the 1st Monday in June of each even-numbered year.

Candidate Filing - August 14, 2023 - August 31, 2023, at 5 p.m.

Candidate Withdrawal & Objection Deadline - September 5, 2023 at 5 p.m.

Absentee ballot request (to be mailed) & Pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023. Person(s) wishing to participate in this election who register to vote after September 25, 2023 will need to register at the polls on election day or vote in person at the Auditor's office. Identification will be required. Current & Valid photo ID card with an expiration date (example, Drivers License or State ID) AND proof of residency in their voting precinct if the driver's license does not have the current address. 

Vote in-person at the Auditor's Office & 1st day to mail absentee ballots - September 20, 2023 

Polling places that will be used for this election, will be the polling places that has precincts that fall within the Burlington Community School District.  These precincts are; Pcts 1-8.
